URBANA, Ill. - The Fighting Illini welcome professional tennis to Atkins Tennis Center this week at the JSM Challenger of Champaign-Urbana. The tournament runs from November 11-17 as part of the ATP Challenger Tour, and will feature current Illini Alex Brown, Vuk Budic, Zeke Clark, and Aleks Kovacevic.
Clark will kick off the tournament with a qualifying singles match at 10:00 a.m. Monday. Brown and Kovacevic will play in featured matches Monday evening. Brown will face Hungarian Mate Valkusz not before 5:00 in the first round of the main draw. Kovacevic, fresh off a quarterfinal appearance at last week's Knoxville Challenger, will face Great Britain's Evan Hoyt at the conclusion of Brown's match.
In the doubles draw, Budic will be paired with Clark, and Brown will play with Kovacevic. Budic and Clark will take the court opposite the American pair of Strong Kirchheimer and Austin Rapp, and Brown and Kovacevic will face Stefan Kozlov and Peter Polansky.
