Hello Illini Family,

It's been an adventurous fall season, and it has now come to an end after our strong finish at our last tournament in North Carolina. We were super fortunate to get to play in such wonderful weather and at such a beautiful course!

Knowing that we would be arriving late with an early practice round the next morning, we made a plan to eat dinner at the airport before catching our second flight to Wilmington. Luckily, we landed about half an hour earlier than scheduled! We woke up early for our practice round and got to see the course and spent a lot of time practicing around the greens. Tristyn played in the afternoon representing our program in the college am. 

After a productive practice round, we went back to the hotel to rest before dinner that they prepared for us at the course. The dinner was amazing! We had a delicious meal as well as a chance to interact with many supporters of the tournament. Following the dinner, we went back to the hotel and had a meeting to talk about our plan for the tournament.

It was a strong start for our last tournament of the season as we finished tied for first after the first round. That evening, we were invited to have dinner with our Illini supporters at their house and it was an awesome evening. We got to hear about their experiences and engage in a variety ofconversations. It was very fun and we definitely learned many things from them. They came out to support us while we played on the last day…much appreciated! 

Starting later in the day, the second round was slower than the first round, but we remained patient. That night, we went back and discussed our plan for the last day and got some rest for our last tournament day of the fall season.

On the last day, we were prepared for the rain as forecasted, but it turned out to be a beautiful day to finish our season! Shout out to our senior, Tristyn Nowlin, who shot 4 under to finish tied for sixth individually. We ended up getting third place and we are happy to end our season on a good note. 

We are very grateful for all the experiences we have gained this fall and are excited to get back and improve on our weaknesses to prepare ourselves for our busy spring season. We are excited to get back to work and do even better in the upcoming spring season!
