TORONTO – Former Illinois All-American and Wimbledon finalist, Kevin Anderson, teams up with Wimbledon champion, Novak Djokovic (SRB) in a star-studded doubles main draw at the Rogers Cup on Monday. Playing for the first time together, the dynamic duo is set to play against rising Canadian stars and wildcard Felix Auger Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov.
Anderson has only played doubles three-times this year, the last being the Fever Tree Championships in June. At the London-based ATP World Tour Masters 500 tournament, Anderson competed with Julien Benneteau (FRA) and reached the Round of 16.
The former All-American won his first professional doubles title with Australia's Matthew Ebden at the 2014 Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco, Mexico. That same year Anderson had a career-high doubles ranking at No. 58.
Recently, Anderson achieved a career-high singles ranking at No. 5 after a successful season highlighted by a historical run at Wimbledon, where he finished as a finalist.
