
McKeeman Scores on Day One of B1G Championships

Illini pole vaulter clears 13’4.25”
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Pole vaulter Sara McKeeman scored the first two points for Illinois women's track at the 2018 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships to highlight day one of competition at the Robert C. Haugh Complex.

Redshirt junior pole vaulter Sara McKeeman scored at her second straight Big Ten Championships meet, placing seventh in the field with a final height of 13'4.25" (4.07m). Clearing five bars during competition, McKeeman needed just one attempt at four of the heights. The 13'4.25" clearance is her second best height of the season, trailing only the 13'5.75" (4.11m) bar she cleared at the Illinois Twilight.
Sophomore Chisom Nwoko also cleared two bars in the pole vault competition, clearing 12'6.25" (3.82m) on her second attempt and just missing a personal-best height of 12'10.25" (3.92m).
Leading the Illini in three track events on day one, Rebecca Craddock timed 4:25.28 in the 1500m, Amira Aduma clocked 1:00.12 in the 400m hurdles and Janile Rogers finished the 200m in 24.52.
Up next, the Fighting Illini continue field event finals and track prelims on Saturday, beginning at 12:20 p.m. central time. The meet can be streamed live on FloTrack and BTN Plus through a subscription to either platform.
