Strong Showing from Kuhn at UIC Diving Invite
February 3, 2018 | Swimming & Diving
CHICAGO - For the second consecutive year, junior diver Ling Kuhn came up big at the annual UIC Diving Invitational, as the Bloomington, Illinois, native posted the top 1-meter diving score (285.35), as well as the fourth-best 3-meter total (252.80).
"She had a respectable performance on both boards today and it was great to see her consistent on the 1-meter," diving coach Manny Pollard said. "For 3-meter, we will be perfecting our dives so that we can take them to the Big Ten Championships with more confidence and be ready to take on the rest of the field. This meet is a big indicator of what areas need work and I am happy that we had a few errors so that we can work on them so they don't happen again."
The top Illini diver on the season faced off against divers from Milwaukee, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Lake Forest, Lincoln, University of Chicago, Illinois State and host UIC. UIC's Cydney Liebenberg won 3-meter diving with a score of 295.45.
Kuhn won the 3-meter diving competition at the event a year ago, posting a 266.90 and finished second in 1-meter with a 247.40 total.
