CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – An in-state product, Lauren Nay attended Naperville North High School where she was a captain and four-time Varsity Award honoree. A two-time IHSA State Qualifier, Nay holds the record for the lowest stroke average at Naperville North. Most recently, the Naperville, Ill. native won the FCWT Junior at PGA West and the 7-G (16-18) division at the 2018 Little People's Championship. Showing improvement every tournament, Nay competed as an individual for the Illini posting a career-best 229 (+13) at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah in Medinah, Ill.

Why you chose Illinois?

It has an amazing business and golf program that I could not find at other schools. My unofficial visit gave me a great understanding of what to expect the next four years and I loved what I saw.

Go skydiving at some point in my life

What are your pre-round superstitions/rituals?

I try my best to always eat an omelet or some version of eggs. On the range, I always start with my 56 and then go every other club through my driver. I end with playing the first hole in my head the way I want. For putting, I always end with making a 3 ft, 6 ft, and 9 ft putt and make sure I have some sort of nuts and fruit and water of course!!

Why do you play golf?

It gives me something to work for and nothing is better than coming off the course with a good round and realizing your hard work has paid off.
