The Fighting Illini women's basketball squad and head coach Nancy Fahey invite Illini fans to preview the 2018-19 squad during an open practice on Saturday, October 13. The team will practice from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Ubben Basketball Complex. Fans can enter the building through the main entrance off of St. Marys Road, and are encouraged to watch practice from the balcony overlooking the gym on the west side of the complex.
The Illini squad will then hold an autograph session in Grange Grove from 12:30-1 p.m., after Illinois Football's Illini Walk, which is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. The Illini football team will kick off its Homecoming game vs. Purdue at 2:30 p.m.
Parking lots open at 7 a.m. as part of the normal football game day procedure. Passes are required for admittance to all parking lots adjacent to the Ubben Basketball Complex. Game-day purchase parking is available in Research Park and to the east of Ubben off St. Marys Road (lot 46 and 47) and Florida Ave (lot 49). The Illinois women's basketball squad opens the 2018-19 campaign on November 7 against Alabama A&M. The game will tipoff at 11 a.m. The program is entering its second season under the direction of head coach Nancy Fahey. The Orange and Blue welcome back several talented returners from the 2017-18 campaign including All-Big Ten Second Team honoree Alex Wittinger and Illini assists leader Brandi Beasley. The team will also feature five new faces in freshmen J-Naya Ephraim, Arieal Scott, Mackenzie Blazek and Carolyn Waleski and graduate transfer Sarah Shewan.
