Why did you choose to attend the University of Illinois?
I chose UIUC because of the coaching staff and the proximity to my hometown. During that time, we had a strong incoming class of recruits that also helped me choose UIUC.
What is your most memorable moment as a Fighting Illini student-athlete?
Too many to name, practicing near the farms creates many memorable moments. But I won't forget the opportunity to compete at the Big 10 and NCAA championships.
What does being a Fighting Illini mean to you?
It means representing the State of Illinois to the fullest. Having the opportunity to wear the UI uniform gave me the opportunity to compete at a high level that prepared me for the real world.
Why is it important to you to stay connected with the University of Illinois?
It is important because once I committed to UIUC in 1996, I joined the UIUC family. Although I don't live in Champaign anymore, I feel that I must stay connected in some way to the orange and blue.
How did your time as a student-athlete at Illinois impact your life?
Taught me how to balance the demands of being a student-athlete and how to compete at a high level. I continue to use these lessons I learned today!
What made you decide to start supporting the education of current Fighting Illini student-athletes through the I FUND?
I believed this was the next step for me and I wanted to express my appreciation for my experience by supporting the IFUND.
What advice would you give to others in Illini Nation who are wondering what they can do to help Illinois Athletics?
Continue to look for ways to be an active supporter and stay engaged with the university.
