Valerie Bobart Wins 3K Steeplechase at Baldy Castillo

Meet Continues Tomorrow Morning at 11 a.m. CT
TEMPE, ARIZ. – The Fighting Illini Women's Track & Field opened their outdoor season in victorious fashion, a first-place finish by Valerie Bobart in the 3,000m steeplechase. Bobart was the lone Illini to compete in the two-event opening day of the Baldy Castillo Invite. The competition continues tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. central time.
Valerie Bobart clocked a 10:48.15 time in the 3,000m steeplechase to beat out Jill Weston of Kentucky, who placed second. The time for Bobart topped her best time last season in the event.
