Hello Illini Fans!

We are back from Ohio where we finished in sixth place at the Lady Buckeye Invitational. The weather in Ohio was nice and we were able to avoid playing in the rain on Sunday by finishing play right before it began! The tournament field included six Big Ten schools, so it was nice to see some familiar faces and new faces before heading into the Big Ten Conference this week!

Leading into the tournament, we practiced a lot of fairway and greenside bunkers, and uneven lies to prepare for the Scarlet course especially the strategically placed bunkers. As a team were well prepared for any situation that we were going to face on the golf course.

After our practice round, we went out to a restaurant called The Millers. Dana and I couldn't decide so we chose to split the Miller ¾ pound burger and tuna flatbread. We finished the Miller burger like champs!

During the first day of the tournament we struggled, however, everyone was able to come back in the second round. We were able to post one of the lower scores in the entire field for the second round! We all learned from our first round where the better misses were overall and minimized our mistakes. Jan and Stephanie both improved by eight strokes!

In the third round conditions were windier than the first day, but we were able to post respectable scores for our final round. Steph came in a tie for 10th for another top-10 finish! We were able to move up two spots from the first day and finish in sixth place.

The van ride was another great way for us to spend more time together and it was a great time to bond! During the ride back to school, we watched The Proposal which was a first time for me!

We all learned many valuable things from this tournament which we will put into practice the next two days before heading into the Big Ten Championships! We are all very excited for the Big Ten Championships and can't wait for exciting things to come!
