The Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Wednesday that Champaign native Tim Sinclair has been selected as the next public address announcer for the Fighting Illini men's basketball program.
 
"Serving as the public address announcer for the Fighting Illini basketball team is a dream come true for me," Sinclair said. "I'm convinced it's the best job in the country. Having the opportunity to play a part in the experience our fans have inside the newly renovated State Farm Center is a role I will cherish."
 
Sinclair will be a familiar voice to many Illini fans as he has served in a public address capacity for all of the varsity sports at some point during his time with the programs.
 
The Fighting Illini begin the 2015-16 campaign on Sunday in Springfield at the Prairie Capital Convention Center. Tip-off against Illinois-Springfield is set for 2 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com.
