Ashley Spencer Repeats as NCAA Champion in 400m

Ashley Spencer's time of 50.28 is the fourth-best collegiate time ever and fifth best in the world this year.

Eugene, Ore. - Sophomore Ashley Spencer successfully defended her 400m title at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, winning her second national championship with a school-record time of 50.28. The time is the fourth-best collegiate time ever and fifth best in the world this year.

Spencer is the first Illini to win back-to-back NCAA outdoor titles since Perdita Felicien in 2002-03.
