#RV/24 Illinois 68, Penn State 51
Feb. 1, 2011

Assembly Hall, Champaign, Ill.

Attendance: 14,996

1. In a series that has had numerous close games as of late, the Illini's 17-point margin of victory tonight marks the highest against the Nittany Lions since a 68-50 UI win on Feb. 24, 2007. The win avenged a 57-55 loss at Penn State earlier this season.

2. Senior Mike Davis scored a season-high 22 points, including five dunks. Davis hit 7-of-14 from the field and 8-of-10 from the line while also pulling down seven rebounds in 36 minutes. It was Davis' fourth straight game scoring in double-figures.

3. Senior Demetri McCamey dished out five assists on the night to move into second on the UI career assists list with 675. He moved past Dee Brown's career total of 674, leaving him behind only Bruce Douglas' career record of 765.

4. Making his third career start, freshman Jereme Richmond nearly had his second career double-double, finishing with eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds. He is averaging 12.3 points and 9.0 rebounds in the last four games.

5. Illinois shared the ball well, dishing out 21 assists on 24 made baskets. The assist-field goal ratio of .875 is a season-best for the Illini.

6. The Illini only committed eight turnovers on the night, their third-lowest total this year.

7. Defensively, Illinois held Penn State to just 33.3 percent shooting, marking the eighth straight game the Illini have held their opponent under 40 percent shooting. It also marks the lowest FG percentage by a Big Ten opponent and the second-lowest overall this season.

8. Illinois used a 12-0 run to take control of the game in the first half. The Illini turned a 17-14 lead at the 11:16 mark into a 29-14 advantage with 7:47 left.

9. The Orange and Blue controlled the glass, out-rebounding the Nittany Lions 38-28 for the game. Penn State had out-rebounded its opponent in six straight games entering tonight's contest.

10. Illinois shot 46.2 percent on the night to improve to 13-0 when shooting 45 percent or better.

11. The announced attendance was 14,996, however the turnstile was just 3,470 due to a massive winter storm that blanketed the Midwest.

12. Both coaching staffs wore Nike sneakers on the sidelines for the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers Awareness Weekend.
