Anderson Receives Olympic Draws

BEIJING - Former Illini Kevin Anderson, representing his native country of South Africa, will face Komlavi Loglo of Togo in the opening round of the 2008 Olympic Tennis Event, as announced by the International Tennis Federation on Thursday, Aug. 7.

In the doubles draw, Anderson has replaced Wesley Moodie (RSA) and will team up with partner Jeff Coetzee (RSA). The South African tandem will face the No. 5-seeded duo of Nicholas Almagro and David Ferrer from Spain in the first round.

The 2008 Olympic Tennis Event gets underway on Sunday, August 10, with first round matches in all four events. The women's singles and men's doubles final take place on Saturday, August 16, and the men's singles and women's doubles finals will be contested on Sunday, August 17.
