Pair of Wheelchair Athletes Nominated for ESPY

U of I women's wheelchair basketball coach, Patty Cisneros, and graduate student, Jessica Galli, are both nominated for an ESPY award for Best Female Athlete with a Disability.
Cisneros captained her team to golds in wheelchair basketball at the 2007 ParaPan American Games and the 2008 Roosevelt Cup and North American Cup. Cisneros and the USA women's wheelchair basketball team are now preparing for the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing this summer.
Galli set world records in the 200, 400, and 800 meters in wheelchair racing in 2007. She will also be competing in the 2008 Paralympic Games.
The ESPYS will be held in Los Angeles July 16th and will air July 20th on ESPN.
