SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (AP) -- Mike Tisdale hit the go-ahead jumper for Illinois with 1:15 left, then sank a 15-footer to seal a 48-44 win over Tulsa at the South Padre Invitational on Saturday night.
Tisdale finished with 12 points and was named MVP of the tournament. Demetri McCamey added eight points to help keep Illinois (6-0) unbeaten.
Jerome James had 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Ben Uzoh added 11 points for Tulsa (4-2).
It was a close game to the end. Illinois led by one at the half, and neither team held a lead bigger than five the rest of the way.
