
Fall athletes named Academic All-Big Ten

Park Ridge, Ill. - A total of 34 Illinois athletes from five fall sports have been named Academic All-Big Ten. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a career grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. Illinois athletes honored include six athletes from men's cross country, five from women's cross country, nine from football, nine from women's soccer, and four from volleyball.
The fall honorees included Angela Bizzarri, who earned All-America honors for the second year in a row at the 2007 Cross Country Championships, Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year Rashard Mendenhall and Lott Finalist J Leman from football and 2006 Big Ten Player of the Year Ella Masar from women's soccer.
