Fighting Illini track standout Perdita Felicien finished second in the 100m hurdles Sunday at the Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Felicien, the world's 18th ranked hurdler posted a time of 12.70 seconds, just three-hundredths of a second behind Brigette Foster of Jamaica. Finishing in third, with a time of 12.79 was Lacena Golding-Clarke, also of Jamaica. Foster and Golding-Clarke rank second and seventh in the world, respectively.
Felicien next travels to Zurich, Switerland to compete in the Weltklasse Zurich, which begin on August 15th. Following that meet, the UI senior will travel to Paris to compete in the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) World Championships. That competition will be held August 23-31.
