Junior forward Brian Cook scored 20 points Monday to lead third-ranked Illinois to a 111-60 exhibition game victory over Lincoln University, a Division II school.
Guards Cory Bradford and Frank Williams also finished in double figures, with 17 and 13 respectively, as Illinois blew the game wide open in the first half and coasted to victory.
Lincoln was led by Cordell Maxwell and Kenny Dye, with 14 points each.
Illinois put the game out of reach midway through the first half. Leading 14-10 over their scrappy but undermanned opponents, the Illini went on a 30-0 run over the next nine minutes. Lincoln finally broke the ice by hitting two free throws with 3:09 left in the first half.
Illinois opens its regular season Friday at home against Gonzaga.
