The “Voice of the Illini” joined Illinois in 2001 after a long stint in professional baseball, including two years as the play-by-play voice of the Anaheim Angels. Barnhart serves as the voice of the Busey Bank Illini Sports Network, providing play-by-play coverage of football and men’s basketball and as the host of the statewide coaches call-in program every Monday night at 7 p.m., live from Papa Del's in Champaign.

Former Illini All-American offensive lineman Martin O’Donnell joined Busey Bank Illini Sports Network in 2014. O’Donnell, who lettered at Illinois from 2004-07, and earned All-America honors at left guard in 2007 after helping lead the Illini to the 2008 Rose Bowl, replaced former Illini quarterback Kurt Kittner in the booth.

Along with Barnhart, O’Donnell and Davis is Steve Kelly, a veteran Illini sportscaster who handles pregame, halftime and postgame host duties. Kelly has covered Illini athletics for over two decades on television and radio. He was longtime host of the popular “Sports Talk” show on WDWS-AM 1400 in Champaign.

Deon Thomas, the all-time leading scorer in Illinois history is the expert analyst for the Fighting Illini Sports Network crew.

Doug Altenberger, a former Fighting Illini basketball star from 1983-87, is the Busey Bank Illini Sports Network crew as an expert analyst for men's basketball. Altenberger will take over analyst duties when analyst Deon Thomas has television commitments.

An established radio voice in Champaign-Urbana, Beatty does play-by-play for every Illini baseball game and select softball games. He also hosts local radio pregame and postgame coverage around Illini football and basketball games, and has been seen and heard as an announcer for Illini sports contests on Big Ten Network+. Locally, Beatty hosts the daily "SportsTalk" show on NewsTalk 1400-AM in Champaign.
