CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – With summer classes in full swing at the University of Illinois, the Fighting Illini basketball team has been hard at work with individual and team workouts at the Ubben Basketball Complex. Five newcomers – Giorgi Bezhanishvili, Ayo Dosunmu, Andres Feliz, Alan Griffin, and Tevian Jones – have joined the veteran Illini on campus for workouts with Coach Underwood and staff.
Dosunmu didn't join the squad until this week, arriving on campus after helping the USA Basketball U18 squad to a gold medal at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship. The other four newcomers started workouts on June 13. Freshman big man Samba Kane, who signed with the Illini this past spring, is expected to join his teammates on campus in August.
