Conference Release
Matchups for the 2018 ACC/Big Ten Challenge have been determined, with Illinois traveling to Notre Dame on Tuesday, Nov. 27, for the 20th annual event. Television network assignments and tip times will be announced at a later date.
This will mark the 42nd meeting between the Fighting Illini and Fighting Irish, though it will be just the third meeting since 1973. Illinois leads the all-time series 27-14. The most recent match-up came in the 2015 Challenge, an 84-79 Irish win at State Farm Center. The last time the two teams met in South Bend was on Dec. 28, 1960, a 69-66 Notre Dame victory.Â
ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will combine to televise all 14 games of the event, matching top college basketball programs playing for conference supremacy and the Commissioner's Cup. All games will also be available to stream via the ESPN app.
