Aja Evans represents one of four female bobsledders named to Team USA at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in South Korea in February. As she was at the 2014 Sochi Games, Evans will be paired with pilot Jamie Greubel Poser in the sled as the duo looks to improve upon their bronze medal from four years ago.
The other U.S. sled team is Elana Myers Taylor and newcomer Lauren Gibbs.
Evans, a five-time All-American and three-time Big Ten champion at Illinois, decided to make the transition to bobsledding in March of 2012. At the national team trials for the 2012-13 season, Evans and driver Jamie Greubel set a start record at the Olympic bobsled track in Lake Placid, N.Y. At the end of the season, Evans was named USA Bobsled's Rookie of the Year.
South Korea is hosting the Olympic Games for the second time in its history after first hosting the Games in 1988. The 17-day competition, February 8-25, features more than 2,800 athletes from 85 nations across seven sports and 15 disciplines.
