Illini Volleyball Look Back: Successful First Year with Tamas

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Saturday, February 10 marks the one-year anniversary of Chris Tamas being named the head coach of Fighting Illini volleyball.
Under the leadership of Tamas, the Illini advanced to their 17th NCAA Regional and eighth Sweet 16 appearance in the last 10 years, while finishing 2017 with a No. 17 ranking in the final AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll. The Illini wrapped up the first season under Tamas with an overall record of 23-11 and a fifth-place finish in the Big Ten Conference with a 12-8 mark.
