CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Six Fighting Illini football student-athletes have made their way to Champaign-Urban and are enrolled in spring semester classes. Included in the group four incoming freshman, one junior college transfer and one graduate transfer.
The new Illini include:
» DT Verdis Brown, a freshman from Chicago by way of IMG Academy in Florida
» DB PC Daniel II, a preferred walkon freshman from Bradenton, Florida, and IMG Academy
» WR Shaedon Meadors, a graduate transfer from Appalachian State and originally from Duncan, S.C.
» RB Jakari Norwood, a freshman from Deerfield Beach high school in Florida
» OL Reuben Unije, a freshman from Bradenton, Florida, and IMG Academy
» DB Nick Walker, a sophomore junior college transfer from Cisco College in Texas and originally from St. Louis
The six newcomers and the rest of the returning Illini begin 2018 winter workouts on Monday, Jan. 22.
