The Big Ten office announced the conference schedule Wednesday, completing the 2017-18 Fighting Illini men's basketball schedule.

With the 2018 Big Ten Tournament taking place one week earlier than previous seasons, all conference schools are playing their first two league games in early December.
Illinois opens at Northwestern (Dec. 1), but instead of the usual trip to Evanston the Illini will travel to Rosemont since the Wildcats are playing their home games at Allstate Arena this season during the renovation of Welsh-Ryan Arena. Illinois will then return to Champaign to face Maryland (Dec. 3).
Conference play resumes after New Year's, and the Illini begin January with four out of five games on the road with trips to Minnesota (Jan. 3), Michigan (Jan. 6), Nebraska (Jan. 15) and Wisconsin (Jan. 19) bookending a home contest with Iowa (Jan. 11).
The Illini will then have five out of the next six games in Champaign, starting with three straight home dates against Michigan State (Jan. 22), Indiana (Jan. 24) and Rutgers (Jan. 30). The lone road game during that stretch is at Ohio State (Feb. 4), before a return to State Farm Center for Wisconsin (Feb. 8) and Penn State (Feb. 11).
Illinois alternates home and road the remainder of the season. After visiting Indiana (Feb. 14), the Illini host Nebraska (Feb. 18) and travel to Michigan State (Feb. 20).
Senior Night at State Farm Center is set for Feb. 22 against Purdue. The Illini once again conclude the regular season at Rutgers (Feb. 25).
The Big Ten Tournament is set for Feb. 28-March 4 at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Quoting Coach Underwood
"The release of the conference schedule leads to much discussion about the games, but as coaches one of the first things we do is dive right into the logistics of planning practice days, off days, and travel. But overall, I'm excited about the schedule we have in front of us and most importantly about leading our team through the Big Ten race for the first time. This is an exceptional league with outstanding players and coaches, and great fans who create home court environments that are difficult to play in front of. It may only be August, but one thing we already know is you will be tested every single night out in this league. Our players are working hard to lay the foundation for the upcoming season, and we hope to see our fans and students support their effort by filling State Farm Center with orange for every home game."
Non-Conference Schedule
Illinois announced its full non-conference schedule on Aug. 3.Â
