CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini women's basketball and head coach Nancy Fahey announce the addition of Athanasia (Nancy) Panagiotopoulou (Pa-na-yo-toe-pou-lou) to the Illinois family for the 2017-18 campaign. A 6-foot-3 forward, Panagiotopoulou will come to Illinois from Athens, Greece. 

"Nancy's versatility will work well in our offensive system," Fahey said. "We love players who can play multiple positions.  She runs the court well, she can score with her back to the basket and she shoots well from the perimeter. Not only that, but personality-wise she is a great fit for Illinois women's basketball.  We are excited that she will be a part of our Illini family."

-Appeared for the Greek National team in the 2015 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship

-Represented her native country of Greece in the 2016 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship

-Played club basketball in Kallitheas, Greece for team Ikaros

-Earned High Honor Roll and Honor Roll status in all semesters of high school

-Full name is Athanasia Panagiotopoulou-Andritsopoulou (Ah-tha-NA-see-uh  Pa-na-yo-toe-pou-lou Ahn-dreet-so-pou-lou)
