Today was our second morning waking up at Hotel Mozonte in Managua. Managua has lovely air conditioned rooms, but it doesn't compare to Granada where we had fruit vendor alarm clocks walking up and down the street outside of our home stays!
Instead of going to a tourist attraction or exploring the city today, we were given a couple hours to relax. Today was a day to reflect and look back at our time spent in Nicaragua so far. The days have been quite busy and the trip has gone so fast, but being here with our team has been a blast! We have made the most out of the experience so far and have enjoyed every moment.
In the afternoon we headed to practice for our game-day-minus-one routine. Tomorrow we will play against the Nicaragua Women's National Team. Even though we practiced with them yesterday, today we were able to show their coaches our style of practice. Afterwards, Lauren Ciesla and I had the opportunity to be interviewed by a the local newspaper in Managua. We attempted to speak Spanish, but shortly found ourselves speaking Spanglish.
After dinner by the pool, our day finally concluded with some belated birthday ice cream to celebrate Alicia Barker. With all the fun we have had, this relaxing day was well needed. Can't wait to see what's in store for tomorrow!
