Lovie Smith informed the duo they had earned scholarships on Christmas day

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois football coach Lovie Smith had a special gift for two Fighting Illini walk-ons this Christmas. Linebacker Jimmy Marchese and tight end Bobby Walker were both informed on Christmas Day that they had earned scholarships for the next year. Both players will be fourth-year juniors for the 2018 and are in pace to graduate in Dec. 2018.
