ESPN.com Freshman All-America Team
Illinois freshman safety Bennett Williams was named to ESPN.com's true-freshman All-America team on Monday.
The Campbell, Calif., native made 64 tackles, fifth-most on the team and the second most in the Big Ten by a freshman. Williams also picked off a team-high three passes, broke up two more passes, and had 1.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble on the season.
Williams was one of 16 true-freshmen to start for the Fighting Illini in 2017, the most in the nation, and one of five Illini freshmen named to the BTN.com Freshman All-America team.
