CHAMPAIGN - Fighting Illini women's basketball is set to host the Bradley Braves on Saturday at 2 p.m. The game will mark Alumni Weekend, welcoming back former Illini women's basketball program members, including former head coach, Theresa Grentz. A 2001 inductee into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, Grentz is the winningest women's basketball coach in Illinois history, leading the Orange and Blue to 210 victories.
The Orange and Blue will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1997 Big Ten title, and fans in attendance at Saturday's game will receive a free replica Big Ten champions banner. Fans who bring their ticket stub from Friday's men's basketball game versus DePaul will also receive free admission to Saturday's contest.
The 2017-18 Illini squad is coming off of a victory over Chicago State. Led in scoring by junior Alex Wittinger (17 ppg, 14 rpg) Illinois will face Bradley for the 15th time in program history. The two teams last met in 2013, and it will be the Braves' first trip to Champaign since 2012.
