Last year, held in Champaign, Coach Turk's squad split the meet, defeating Missouri (82-65) but losing to Iowa (81-73) at the UI Armory.

Devin Quinn was quick to make an impact in his first season, as he moved into Illinois' 60m and 200m top-10 lists, the latter coming during prelims at Big Ten Championships. Also in the top-10 of the 60m dash was Mo Maat who equaled Quinn's time at the Border Battle. Eiker joins the duo after twice winning the 100m and 200m IHSA state titles.
