Rosemont, Ill. – Fighting Illini junior golfer Nick Hardy has been recognized as the Big Ten Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday, Sept. 14. Hardy earned his first individual title of the season at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate, also helping Illinois to earn it's first team victory of the year.
Hardy, a native of Northbrook, Ill., shot 4-under par through 36-holes at the rain-shortened Wolf Run Intercollegiate this past weekend to help lead the Orange and Blue. Hardy carded nine birdies at the tournament. The weekly conference honor marks his first this season and the second in his career.
Illinois will continue play at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational this weekend. The tournament will begin on Friday, Sept. 16 and continue through Sept. 18 at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Ill.
