Hello Illini Nation!

I just came back from a fantastic week in Philadelphia for the 116th U.S Women's Amateur! As this was my first time playing in the event, I was very excited for some great golf and a fantastic experience. Arriving Friday night with a little bit of a delay, we didn't get to explore the city of Philadelphia until Saturday morning. I was joined by my swing coach, John Elliott Jr., and his two kids Trish and Morgan. My practice round was later in the day, so we decided to go to Liberty Bell and walk around the city. During the practice round, John helped me a lot with course management and how I should prepare myself mentally.

The USGA did a very nice job hosting the tournament; everything was very organized. The members from the course were very friendly and made sure that everyone felt welcomed, even giving up their locker rooms for the week for us. I used a local caddy, and we made a great team, making sure we gave it our best. The course was absolutely beautiful! The greens rolled so smoothly and the conditions were flawless. This wasn't the first time the course hosted a USGA event as they also hosted the US Women's Open in 1976.

This was a great learning experience for me, and I learned a lot about my game and what I need to work on. I also enjoyed meeting so many fantastic golfers from all around the world. It was a great way to end the summer season, and it has prepared me well for upcoming tournaments. I'm looking forward to the positive influence it will have on my game in the fall!

Go Illini!
