The Illini have continued to rewrite the record books since head coach Matt Bollant has stepped on campus. Once again, Illinois set a school record for three-pointers made in the 2015-16 season, knocking down 224 triples in 30 games. The Illini have now improved upon the program's best for the last four seasons under Bollant, and have been ranked among the best three-point shooting teams in the Big Ten.  Prior to the 2012-13 season, Illinois' all-time record for single-season three-pointers stood at 181 (35 games), netted in the 2007-08 campaign.Â
The Illini netted a school record 15 treys against Valparaiso last season, setting a new single-game school record. During the 2015-16 season, Illinois knocked down a season-high 12 triples on three separate occassions. That number also sits second on Illinois' all-time single game list. Illinois' 7.5 three-pointers per game this season check in at No. 3 in the Big Ten, and senior Kyley Simmons' 2.6 treys per game rank among the top five individuals in the league.Â
