CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois finishes its two-game season series with Eastern Illinois on Tuesday when it travels to Mattoon, Illinois. The Fighting Illini will look to finish the sweep after a 9-7 win April 5 at Illinois Field.
Illinois (17-16) got back over the .500 mark last week by winning four straight games. The Illini beat Illinois State in a midweek game before sweeping Saint Louis over the weekend in front of record crowds at Illinois Field.
Tuesday's game is the Illini's only trip for the rest of the month. Ohio State visits Illinois Field April 22-24 and Minnesota travels to Champaign April 29-May 1, as Illinois finishes its run of 10 of 11 games at Illinois Field.
Andrew Mamlic is scheduled to start for the Illini against Eastern Illinois right-hander Chase Thurston. It will be Mamlic's third straight Tuesday start.
