Senior guard Tracy Abrams became the 49th player in Illinois history to score 1,000 career points when he hit a deep jumper at the 15:47 mark of the first half during the Fighting Illini's blowout 92-73 win over Central Michigan Saturday at State Farm Center. Abrams needed just four points to reach 1,000 entering the game. He ended up with 31 points on Saturday, a new career-high, to finish the game with 1,027 points, currently 46th in UI history.
Abrams is the second Illini on the current squad to reach the 1,000 point milestone, joining fellow senior Malcolm Hill. Hill scored his 1,000th point last season at Minnesota on Jan. 24, 2016. He currently has 1,451 career points, ranking 15th in UI history.
