Fighting Illini standout Jannelle Flaws was named one of the top-25 draft picks for the 2016 NWSL Draft, as seen on TopDrawerSoccer.com. The draft is set to take place on Friday, Jan. 15 at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention in Baltimore, Md. The draft order is based upon the teams' performance at the conclusion of the 2015 regular season, giving Portland Thorns FC (via ORL) the first pick in the draft. Flaws played in 84 games during her career at Illinois, overcoming two knee injuries to become one of the school's most prolific players. She finished her career with a school-record 54 goals, also holding the single-season school record with 23 goals in the 2013 season. She was twice named Big Ten Forward of the Year and received All-America honors in 2014. She will graduate as the program's career leader in total points (122), total shots (349) and shots on goal (169) as well.Â
