Champaign, Ill. – The Fighting Illini Marketing & Promotions staff is pleased to announce that "Stuff Huff" will return for the 10th season on Friday, Aug. 28, prior to Illinois volleyball's season opener against Louisville. Brought to you by WCIA, the DIA will host a pre-match carnival outside Huff Hall beginning at 5:30 p.m., featuring inflatables, free food, giveaways and more.
University of Illinois students are invited to attend a free carnival in the grass area just south of Huff Hall, which will feature a bounce house and a gigantic inflatable obstacle course. Students can enjoy free boneless wings from Buffalo Wild Wings, and the first 500 students will get a free Illinois headband.
This year's event will also serve as the Illini Pride kickoff party, where registered members can receive their 2015-16 I-Pride t-shirts. Spike Squad will be on hand to teach new Illini fans their patented volleyball cheers, while students can enjoy outdoor tailgate games with new and old friends alike. Students can sign up for a free raffle to enter for a chance to win various Illini prizes; make sure to listen for your ticket number when the winners are drawn during the match.
Following the outdoor festivities, students will parade into Huff Hall to take their seats in the Spike Squad sections, hyped up and ready for the 2015 season opener. Typically one of the most well-attended matches of the season, this year's Stuff Huff match will feature No. 8 Illinois and Louisville on Friday at 7 p.m. as part of the Illini Classic, which continues through Saturday night. Miami (Ohio) and Creighton will also be in town for the weekend, with the Orange and Blue squaring off against the pair on day two.
