Paint the Highway Orange Program Unveiled

The University of Illinois is proud to introduce an exciting new Illinois Pride initiative called "Paint The Highway Orange!". In an effort to spread Orange and Blue loyalty and generate excitement for Illinois Athletics, we are looking for Illinois residents who share our enthusiasm for this great university and own farmland or other property along Illinois' interstates or major highways. Participants in this new program will receive one to five consecutive signs, often referred to as Burma-Shave signs, to place along the edge of their property situated along an interstate or state highway. As Illinois residents and visitors travel throughout the state, their attention will be drawn to these fun and witty signs that celebrate passion for the Fighting Illini Nation.

To view a map indicating the interstates and state highways selected for this program, click here. To the right you will see examples of these signs to give you an idea of what they look like. The number of locations chosen for the initial phase of this program will be based on available resources.

Our plan is to launch this program in the spring so we would like to hear from you as soon as possible.
