NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Illinois men's track and field squad wrapped up competition at the Meyo Invitational on Saturday, tallying second-place finishes in five different events at the Loftus Center. Junior Stanley Azie clocked a 21.58 in the 200m, sophomore Ryan Lynn notched a 1:51.35 in the 800m and junior Graham Farnsworth timed 4:11.28 in the unseeded section of the mile while Cody Wisslead was the runner-up in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.05 and ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay (3:11.94).

"Overall, we made progress toward where we need to be at the end of the year," interim head coach Mike Turk said. "A number of guys stepped up and improved on their past performances. All of our event groups are competing well, so I am encouraged by that."

After winning the weight throw on Friday, freshman Davis Fraker finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 57-2 (17.42m). Senior Shane Daniel earned a fifth-place showing in the unseeded section of the 400m with a time of 48.70 while senior Dan Jones took 11th with a mark of 48.69. Those two seniors joined Wisslead and sophomore Malcolm Taylor on the 4x400m relay, which ran a season-best time of 3:11.94.

"We had two really good bookends on the relay with Shane leading off and Dan anchoring it," Turk said. "Shane is rock solid for us and Dan ran one of his best races of the year at the end of it."

Sophomore Kyle Engnell finished right behind Farnsworth in the unseeded section of the mile, taking third with a time of 4:12.13. Junior Dan Kremske competed in the Ryan Shay Mile and placed seventh a personal-best time of 8:13.47. Senior Azeez Shogbuyi posted an eighth-place finish in the 200m with a time of 22.00.
