After solid performances at Michigan State last night, the Orange and Blue struggled in the last leg of its road trip.
"We had great team performances against Michigan State yesterday," head coach Sue Novitsky said. "Today was a little tough, but we are learning how to come back on the second day and be better. We're learning how to break through and are still looking for top people to take control and step up."
The Illini claimed the top three spots in the 400 free relay, with the combination of Meghan Mason, Erin Lamb, Anna Johnson and Kristen Manias placing first with a time of 3:30.68.
"We had solid (400) free relay performances today," Novitsky said. "It was good for them to come back at the end of the meet and finish on a positive note."
