Frank Williams was the Big Ten Player of the Year, First-Team All-American and Big Ten Silver Basketball Award winner in 2001 after leading the Illini to the Big Ten Championship that season. He was named First-Team All-Big Ten in 2001 and 2002 after leading the Illini to Big Ten Championships both years. Williams is a member of the Illini All-Century Team chosen in 2005 and ranked among the top 20 scorers on the Illini all-time scoring list with 1,440 points and was 10^th in school history in assists with 432. Williams was the Illini team MVP in 2001 and 2002. He declared for the NBA Draft after his junior season and was selected in the first round as the 25^th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets before being traded to the New York Knicks on the night of the draft. He played two seasons for the Knicks and one year with the Chicago Bulls.
